Birth at Hippo Regius
· Hippo Regius, Annaba, Algeria
Wikimedia Commons · Public domain · file Suetonius was probably born at Hippo Regius, the North African town whose archaeological site lies beside modern Annaba. This is the earliest securely documented location in his life. The birth year is approximate, and ancient sources do not conclusively settle the birthplace; Hippo Regius is the majority scholarly attribution.
