First move to Tokyo
· Tokyo, Japan
At eighteen, Ōe made his first trip to Tokyo and spent a year at a preparatory school before university study. The year is derived from his 31 January 1935 birth date and the source's statement that this trip occurred at age 18; the preparatory school is unspecified.
