Dies at Gad's Hill Place
· Gad's Hill Place, Higham, Kent, England
Dickens died at his Kent home after suffering a stroke the previous day while working on The Mystery of Edwin Drood. A later biographical theory disputes where the preceding stroke occurred, but the documented place of death is Gad's Hill Place.
