2. Deposited his book at the Artemision

   A later ancient tradition reports that Heraclitus deposited his single book in the great Temple of Artemis at Ephesus, a physical appearance at the Artemision. The deposit is reported in later testimony and is undated; 500 BC is an approximate anchor based on his activity around that year.
